Okay, so, it's you, the black blobs are what though? I understand your Experimental -and Hyper-Minimalist!!!- direction, (a theme and style which is rarely distasteful to me) here, since I read that other post. I figured that was what it was, anyway... perhaps I just don't have the vision right now to understand you. Which is okay... just know that I am a depressed person too. Maybe I just missed it because I am too close to the problem. ;) I love games like KOLM, Color My World, Tainted Olive, pixel games, anything that is existential and fantastic. Focus on your theme, build it with your visuals, outline it with your words. ;) Giving you more stars now that I have understood your point as much as I can. Although you DO need to explain better. And I don't mean with words.

Try to elaborate a tad more with the visuals and I think you're golden. Also make it so we can actually SEE the interact-able objects? Way too small to distinguish explanatory details.

...No?

I love this art style. SO HARD. Please make more.

The movement sticks a bit, but hey.
Haven't finished it yet, still trying to figure out what the next clickable point is after I murdered the SHODAN tv and the GLADOS heater. ... Maybe should have killed the A/C first... hrm, way too short and so much fun.
Love this existential stuff.
Wait nevermind. Figured it out. Niiiiice. But TOO SHORT! need MOREEE.

Glad you love the art! The artist is Seth, you can find his twitter here: https://twitter.com/snowflakestudio

I loathe this -take over the screen- style of interface. It's distracting, clunky and breaks immersion. I can't play them when they're like this. Plus it MAKES HALF THE SCREEN DISAPPEAR so you can't see the top of the game. Game breaker for a LOT of people, me included... ;( like the music though! Like the graphics, too. But, srsly, ditch this interface. It's gonna bite oyu in the ass. Old School Adventure games never needed fancy digs. They just WERE. Focus on that, and you'll be golden. ;)

Nirag responds:

Thank you for the feedback!
I've sent you a PM asking for more details!

Aw, man! That ending is the only weak thing. ;)

JeffreyDriver responds:

Sorry to hear that you didn't like the ending, but yeah, it's no cliffhanger.

OH GOD it's like Apshai! SO SEXYYYY.
(shows age)
Sound Effects don't stay off, though. (walking sound)
OO I love this. I tried the online engine you're using before.. I couldn't grasp it. It just seemed so... indirect and workaround, you know? But, maybe they're better now. ;) Also, you still have spelling errors. ;) Retrieve, etc..

JeffreyDriver responds:

Thank you. I wasn't familiar with Apshai, but I looked it up. Looks rather interesting! I'm going to try and run it on an emulator.

I'm glad that you enjoyed it. Stencyl has come a long way. When I first tried Stencyl I was underwhelmed, but I stuck with it and I'm glad that I did. Thanks for the typo report (although they're probably not typos, I'm just dyslexic!)

nice. the backtracking is a problem though. why NOT have backtracking? some of us like to explore and get everything... just a thought. ;)

DavidMarchand responds:

Thanks for the comment! Like I said to an earlier comment, we just came up with level design ideas that weren’t easily backtrackable, mostly about falling to a lower area and not being able to jump back up (the whole game is about going deeper and deeper into an underground secret base, so it made sense at the time).

The main Play button leads you to a level select / “overworld” map, and the Extras menu shows you which levels you’re missing collectibles from, so I thought I was taking reasonably good care of my completionist players. I guess I’ll have to be more careful next time.

cute little game. nice and blue. Did you do a Xmas game this year?

amajeto responds:

Hello!
Thank you for nice words. We publish game every week. You can go to our site.

Oh wow, the concept is great, the art and music are soothing. But it holds your hand too much. The pointing hand is very distracting and actually very annoying, as well, and for me personally is very triggering. As a player you need to be able to pick where you click, which combinations. But it doesn't let you do that. There is too little for the player to do, figure out or intuit. In essence, there's no puzzle because you're being told what to do. It's all done for you, making the game-play feel non-immersive and claustrophobic. Don't make that mistake! ;)))) This game is too good to have that handicap, especially if you're going to sell it. It's good, but it could be great. Take out that problem, and you've got it. This is now one of my favorite games, barring the one minor issue. Also It's entirely possible I'm missing the point. That said, great game!

MiracleTea responds:

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on this! Very helpful and interesting. A few people have had similar thoughts to you. We find tutorials quite tricky to design. It's a fine balance between being too 'hand holdy' and the player not understanding the mechanics and walking away.

Beyond these initial mechanics we fully let go of the players hands and let players discover things. But perhaps we should've scaffolded the gameplay down a little more at the start and we probably could've dropped the pointing hand. Always lots to learn, hopefully we nail it in the next game. Thanks for playing! :) <3

ah, someone down there mentioned Choose Your Own Adventure. The only one I can remember now is the one with the Golden Sword. Good Times, breh. Good Times. I am a dragon-whacking raving bitch. But I made buddy-buddy with the centaurs. Because It's a Lynel, and I Know Better. Best to save those bastards for Last... maybe let the goblins irritate them right out of their armory while I make the most of the five-finger discount while they're distracted.

CaptainJackTHAC0 responds:

i love it!

I always get the biggest kick out of Neiner.

Muja responds:

Glad you liked her!

One hundred meters? That ought to keep the cows guessing.
